Townsend-Thompson Building

The original owner of the site, Nathaniel Townsend, met Stephen F. Austin in 1834 and was intrigued by Texas and moved to Austin in 1839. Thaddeus Austin Thompson, the original owner of the Italianate Vicorian structure, was appointed by Woodrow Wilson as an envoy to Columbia in 1913-1916. The building has housed various enterprises.
