Named for a Johnny Cash song, The Mean-Eyed Cat is a quintessentially Texas bar that gives more than a nod to The Man in Black. It’s more like a Johnny Cash shrine, and we’re fine with that. No-nonsense beer is the bar’s staple and and Frito Pie is on the Monday night menu. Out-of-towners might even mistake this place a condemned building, but if you want to listen to local musicians loaded with talent, this is your joint.
